All the other pizza places in the area either had tremendous wait times, even for take-out, or didn't offer what were were looking for. Initially got excited about another joint's clam's casino pizza, but they were out of clams. Which I didn't think happened on the Cape. Ember offered an acceptable alternative, their scallop pizza, with bacon an asparagus. Also order a pepperoni and mushroom. Thought we were just going to get a handful of bay scallops, but was surprised that the pizza contained a good amount of diver scallops. Liked the thin styled crust, but I think the desired crispiness was lost on the ride back. Also could have been a bit warmer. However, the sauce is tasty. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Father-in-law says its the best pizza he's had on the cape.

Oh Ember, how I want to love you. You are so convenient and have an awesome outdoor patio. But every time we order from you (in house or takeout) there is always a major mishap. This time around we waited 45 minutes for a table even though there were 2 empty 4 tops the entire time. We could have eaten and left during that time. The people that ended up being seated there had also waited 45 minutes so it wasn't being held for a reservation. Our pizza arrived cold and undercooked. The chicken tenders were cut so thin there was barely any chicken in them. The kale salad was way too sweet with the candied walnuts, too many figs and sweet dressing. Nachos had a good helping of pulled pork but the overall dish was also too sweet. Hoping things turn around because they used to be better and there needs to be a great restaurant in Harwich Port!

Overpriced, pizza wasn't that great or worth the money we spent (110.00) for seven people. Had better pizza for under 50.00 at Mikes. I think you are paying more for the experience and atmosphere. The outdoor fire it what drew us to this place to begin with. I guess if you just want to have a few drinks and sit by a cool fire pit then this is the place for you. But those drinks could be pricey as well. The soda our kids had were 3.50 a piece and 5.00 for a bottle of root beer ( the same root beer is at the grocery store in a six pack for six bucks).

I have spend every summer for the past 20 years in Harwich Port and I have enjoyed Ember since it opened. however in the past year or 2 it has gone down hill. Inexperienced staff and the quality of food has gone down. I usually get take out but I dined in last night. It took 25 minutes just to get a waiter at our table and his apology was "sorry we are busy and you guys got shafted" which i thought was incredibly unprofessional. We got the same thing i always get the Chicken Pesto pizza and the Teryaki Wings. The wings were great but a little on the salty side. The pizza came out and it had great taste but was almost cold wen it got to the table and it was very oily and flimsy. Over the food was decent... Worse then usual I am usually a very very easy going customer but latley the food has been worse then normal and they do not have the quality of food for me to put up with terrible service. Ember may have just lost a repeat customer.

Oh my god. This place is good...I can't speak about all the food but I have the shrimp pizza and it was amazing. The only reason I give this 4 star is that the staff is a little young and it wasn't to attentive and at the end of the meal I feel like we were getting rushed out. But all in all I thought it was good the pizza and wings were amazing. I would love to come back here again!

We visited Ember a few years ago and couldn't wait for this trip to come back! We've been dreaming about their bone in buffalo wings and the generous sides of blue cheese and ranch :) The ambiance is awesome and they have a huge fire pit outside its so cute and cozy! Their pizza is super thin crust and just delicious! We love it here and have to stop here every time at the cape- just have to! :)

Restaurant could do more business if they updated the website on a regular basis with current days and hours of operation. Had three different pizza's one of which was gluten free, my daughter loved the crust and states it was one of the better gluten free pizza's. We also had two regular pizza's both of which were greasy and just warm when it arrived at our table. Grease was from the cook putting quite a bit of oil on the pizza's prior to going in the ovens. (Observed it from our table)

We came here to have wings and pizza and the most helpful thing we can tell you is to not order the pizza from this restaurant. We have never seen a pizza made like this- had to send it back twice. The bottom was completely burned and half of it was raw. Not to mention that they toss regular cold tomato slices on top. The cheese would slip right off the pizza and had no flavor. Definitely enjoy the wings. Those were very tasty and the fire outside is nice. Avoid the pizza!

This may be a confusing review but hear me out: The positives: 1.) tons of vegetarian pizza topping options 2.) gorgeous outdoor seating patio The negatives: 1.) HORRIBLE acoustics 2.) takeout makes NO sense; at most places, you pick up your takeout at the hostess stand. At ember you have to smoosh between people at the bar then carry your food over them... Not only is this rude, but it interrupts the dining experience of others. All this being said, check it out, the food is good

This year much better. Last year , a little problem with lack of a dishwasher. This year- host and hostess need to be more welcoming as opposed to disturbing their conversation. The caprese salad was amazing with wonderful tomatoes. The menu does say "basil" but our server said it never comes with basil- oh well The wings were perfection- both the sweet and spicy and lemon pepper. We ordered the pulled pork pizza. We love it although this time was a little burnt in spots Overall very good for handling a large vacation crowd. Tory, our server, was good and attentive The inside was quite busy and loud but not bothersome

My fam decided to go to Ember while in the area during an off-season weekend. It was our cousin's birthday, and we were in the mood for a big, awesome meal. We called ahead and made a reservation, and our table was ready shortly after our arrival. We waited long enough to figure out what we wanted- I don't remember the name of the pizza I ordered, but it had giant, delicious scallops on it, with huge strips of bacon... I'm not a huge bacon fan, but I was sharing so I rolled with it. Our table of six ordered appetizers, and those were great! Fried mozzarella, boneless hot wings, spinach dip- all really fantastic. The dining room was really, really loud, because of the open concept style, and the high ceilings, I'd guess. The ladies at the table behind us looked like the Real Housewives of the South Shore, and the crowd overall, was mixed, bougie people and normal people. I can't imagine coming here in the summer, I feel like the crowd would be incredibly annoying. We waited a long time for the pizza. I noticed the chef squirting crazy amounts of clarified butter on every pizza that came in front of him, so I expected everything to taste pretty good. When the pizzas finally came, everything looked so amazing on the table that I took a panoramic picture of the meal. Then, we all started eating... and we realized that there was a fine layer of charcoal coating the underside of all four pizzas they we'd ordered :-( This wasn't a normal amount of char, this was a seriously overwhelming amount of blackened cheese, grease, who knows what, completely coating the bottoms of our pizzas. I ate about a slice, and felt sick to my stomach and kinda grossed out when I looked at my hands and saw how black my fingers were. We sent the pizzas back, and the waitress was really nice about it, offering to send out new ones. At first we were like "yeah, ok" but then after seeing one of them come back in the exact same condition, I tried to cancel mine. I really didn't want another disgusting burnt pizza to take back to our little cottage. I wasn't going to eat it. The waitress said it was already in, and I didn't want to be a jerk so I just went with it... so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when it was still on the bill when the time came to pay. DISCLAIMER: I'm not one of those people who bitches about the cost of a good meal. But I am a person who bitches about the cost of a bad one. As nice as the server was otherwise, those pizzas were bad. They were bad, plain and simple. No one enjoyed their meal, and honestly, we were out as a family and didn't want to make a scene or a fuss... but I guess I should have demanded to see a manager, and explained that clearly the cooking surface inside the oven was filthy, and that's why a layer of charcoal dust was on my pizza, my fingers and now, in my teeth and mouth. No joke, when I went into the restroom to wash my hands after the meal, I had charcoal smeared all around my mouth. Gross, dude. Bottom line: this place is a bit of a mess. I don't like to write one star reviews, and I did have decent appetizers, so I'll give it two stars, but I won't be back, and I sincerely recommend that you skip Ember on your next trip to the Cape.

When I read that this pizza was coal-fired, I immediately thought of crispy, chewy crust. I ordered a pizza margherita and breadsticks (which were decent) and while the mozzarella and basil were fresh, the sauce (yes the margherita comes red) was blah and, the saddest part, the crust was pale, floppy, and woefully undercooked.

Ate there twice over Labor Day weekend. Great for pizza (I really liked the fig + prosciutto), with a good beer and wine selection. Italian entrees were pretty anemic.

I love ember, always have and always will. Their blueberry pizza is to die for as well as the fig and prosciutto. The Blueberry is super unique and can't be found many places. Yes, it is thin crust coal fire pizza so chances are your pizza will be a bit crisp (but I like it that way). If you are hesitant about the pizza- order a few appetizers. The bacon wrapped scallops are AMAZING and their salads are great and huge! Try their red Sangria- I typically end up having a few glasses. It's yummy.

We still love it here however the service was VERY slow this time. Also the bottom of one of the pizzas was black. We let the manger know about the service and they comped the giant cookie dessert

My husband and I grabbed dinner here and have mixed reviews. We have come to ember before for apps and drinks on the patio and liked our experience and the food. Tonight we grabbed dinner inside and the acoustics were awful and food was just ok. The boneless buffalo tenders were great but our pulled pork pizza was burnt. They bill their pizzas as being crispy but ours was not crispy, it was burnt and all the toppings just made the crust floppy. Worst part of the meal was when the bill came and our server charged my for my soda refill. If one soda at $3.50 wasn't ridiculous enough, he charged me for my refill making my soda bill $7.00. That charge alone may turn me away from coming back again :/

My boyfriend and I are dinner here the other night and it was great! We only waited about ten minutes for an outside table near the giant fire--on a Saturday night! Not bad! We started with corona light on draft YESS, and a sangria. We ordered the spinach dip and it was amazing! Huge and bubbly. I decided on the wedge salad and my boyfriend got the pulled pork pizza. This. Wedge. Salad. I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN. It was so delicious I can't even stop thinking about it. It was huge! The combination of balsamic glaze and blue cheese was absolutely phenomenal. My boyfriend loved his pizza, too! Made on a coal fired oven. Our serve Jill was super sweet and even suggested a bar to go to later that night. We would love to go here if we make it to the cape again someday!

  • Amanda H.

We had the barbecue chicken pizza, which was good. The Gouda was a nice touch and the crust was very thin, which we like. The sangria was not good though, it tasted syrupy. The waiting area with the fire is nice. We sat outside and that was a nice atmosphere, the inside was very loud. Overall, I would go back and recommend it to others.

Folks. They leave tables empty in anticipation of reservations 60-90 minutes in the future. The food is good but sweet holy Moses the host has no clue how to manage the seating. The manager is in over his head. If you have to have it, get it to go. They have no idea what they're doing outside the kitchen.

This restaurant has the worst tasting pizza that I have ever had in my life. Loved the service & the ambiance was very nice. However, we sat at round table with a seat that felt as wide as a 2x4. We loved our salads with the fig vinaigrette & we were so looking forward to delicious pizza... but were so extraordinarily disappointed! We ordered the chicken and pesto & the fig pizza which were just awful! The coal fired oven that is promoted at the restaurant - charred the bottom of the first pizza & it tasted like a piece of charcoal. How a chef could let pizzas leave the kitchen like that... I'll never know, but we will not go back.

Every time I come down I try to go here for their thin crust pizza. Great pizza. And they make one of my favorite specialty pizzas. Usually I am a margarita with pepperoni and or onions person. But I love pesto with arugula, spicy salami, shaved parm, and crushed red peppers. It is to die for.

To begin with, I give this place major props for remaining open ALL YEAR LONG. So many Cape Cod places, particularly along coastal Route 28, close down by Columbus Day believing everyone with a wallet has crossed the bridges until Memorial Day. Not these guys. They're there, even on quiet nights, to serve the locals TERRIFIC and FAST coal-fired pizza (try 9 minutes start to finish), and to provide friendly conversation at the cozy gleaming wood bar in between a bunch of giant TVs with every sport known to man (and woman). Now the ugly. There's something about Harwich Port restaurants where terrible accoustics are a requirement. I avoid the dining room at Ember at all costs. Really. I'll go elsewhere if I can't find a seat at the bar. The dining room is enough to make a pacifist change is mind. Please fix this! But I digress. I usually get a pizza-- blueberry or portabello mushroom or something non-pizza and totally delicious-- and a salad, and that is plenty, but they have other inventive dishes on the menu that I invite you to check out. As appealing in summer when the patio offers a blazing fire pit and outdoor flat-screen TV and tourists strolling by, as it is in the dead of winter when the windows are fogged up against an angry sea at the end of the road, Ember is something to try and fall in love with again and again.

We started our meal with what looked to be an excellent menu. My girlfriend and I ordered two pizzas, an appetizer and some drinks. The service was mediocre at best. It took a seeming eternity for our waitress to appear, a good 10 minutes before our drinks arrived and once our food arrived, we never saw our waitress again until we had to flag her down to get our check. And the food: the pizza was disappointingly bland. There really isn't too much else to say about it. Not terrible, but certainly nothing to that will be bringing us back.

Steer your pizza craving ship clear of this make believe brick oven pizza trap. Worst service on the cape! Arrogant staff and managers with a "you are doing them a favor" attitude for stepping into this gastric nightmare. Endless lines, no reservations, cold "hot" pizza, acoustics similar to a subway stop, dumb witted waitresses.....this tourist trap should be avoided at all costs!

The only reason I give a star is that the outdoor patio has a cool vibe (beware the mosquitoes after dark), but other than that, there's really no reason to eat at Ember. We had a party of eight seated at a table for 5 or 6 max. It took at least 30 minutes to get our drinks (one beer, one soda, and everyone else had water). We got some of our appetizers by the 40 minute mark, but we didn't get the rest of our food until we got up and tracked down the manager. Even then, it took another 20 minutes. Two of the pizzas were good, the other two were burnt to a crisp. When we approached the manager about the quality of the food, he said, "its brick oven fired, its supposed to be like that." Being from NY, the pizza was subpar at best. The Caesar salad wasn't very good either. When we asked the manager to adjust our bill because of the quality of the food and the lack of service, he was not very willing, and the waitress was not very polite or courteous. I did notice that most of the people there were not locals as I overheard conversations at the firepit. That's usually not a good sign. Overall I would say go to George's for pizza - sometimes the best place is the local watering hole, and not the trendy, foo-foo joint.

I have been here 3 times. I will stick to the main points ... Hostess Service: Terrible, Terrible, Terrible 1/5 stars Pizza: Great - but they tend to send it out burnt to hell - no quality control - check it before you leave - 3/5 stars Garlic Buffalo Wings: Amazing (best around) 4/5 stars Get your food to go - ratter than eating in -/ just to avoid the dooshy teens that run this place. Their service is rude and frustrating. There are some great people sprinkled in - but honestly - it's a doosh fest. Get it to-go, unless you're a ...

Ember sponsored the Harwich Fire Associations' By the Seaside' 5 K. Super friendly staff with a table of really good food. The pizza was perfect, not burnt and the BBQ wings were sublime! I still love the bar and the fire pit..romantic, cozy, family friendly, all in one.

As nice as the place is the management seems very incompetent. We had a 7:30 reservation for which we were on time but them had to wait a half hour. Them we were shown to two tables for 6 instead of the table for 12 we had reserved. When we asked why we couldn't have the table we asked for we were told flat out that this was what they had planned for us. I don't like to yell at the help since they don't have the final say so I asked to speak to the manager who has yet to show his face after 15 minutes. We have decided to leave and get take-out from George's Pizza and take it home where we can all eat together and enjoy the evening. I would recommend this place as it is run

Such good pizza! I got wings before and those were delicious. The pizza was just divine. It was nice and crispy and charred which was so unique and delicious!! The server was also super friendly!! I would definitely recommend this place. The parking was a pain, it was a shame because the sundae school parking lot was practically empty! The inside of the restaurant is also very pleasant. Will definitely be returning asap!!

The only reason this is not a 1 star review is the outstanding food. Call ahead for take out Skip the restaurant altogether. When we finally got seated after a 45 minute wait, we sat and waited some more - ten minutes. The waitress was rude and seemed bothered that we were there. She said she would be back in just a minute. Another 10 minutes. We ordered appetizers. 20 minutes later they finally arrive. We had almost as long to wait for food as we did waiting for a table. The food was amazing - almost worth enduring the horrible service for. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip. Mmmmmmmm. Best ever. We added Gorgonzola garlic bread and a Greek salad - both superb. Another wait for the main courses, which the waitress blamed on the kitchen. We had the special. A large chicken bacon ranch pizza and a bacon and scallop pizza. Both were outstanding. After we ate - say it with me - we waited. A total of 2.5 hours for five of us to eat dinner. Yes it's summer on Cape Cod; yes they were swamped but No, this wouldn't have made a difference because lousy service would have happened if we were the only group there. Our best advice? Prepare for your taste buds to send you love letters- but also be prepared to call it in and take it out!

I give it 3 stars simply for ambiance and creativity. We had their fig, goat cheese and caramelized onion pizza and it was very unique. The only thing I would recommend would be that the cook needs to watch the time in the oven. Our other pizza- the veggie came out slightly burned. We were too hungry to send it back so we ended up crunching through the bites. The service was good though and the location is so close to sundae school ice cream!!! Such a shame.

Had such an amazing experience here and it was our first time! Started with nachos that were served piping Hott with jalapeños, sourcream, salsa and yummy guac. I had a few glasses of wine and my other had a few beers... All served cold. Our main entree was a BBQ chicken pizza. Was delish. Was not as barbequey as we are used to but the thin crust made up for it definitely. Our waitress was the best part, was so considerate of us and was so sweet... Her name was Allie d. Highly recommend this place! LOVE the atmosphere, decor, and roaring fire out front. Very clean as well

We left this restaurant tonight after being told by the manager that our Limelight Deal would not be honored. It had not expired. He stated that it could not be used because it's a holiday weekend. This was not stated on the voucher. Luckily we had not ordered. I cannot believe this poor business practice. Don't participate in promotional deals if you don't intend to honor them. Totally disappointed in this establishment.

There's a lot of things to love about Ember but a few annoyances that keep it from being 5 stars. As is expected for a Cape Cod restaurant, the prices are pretty high. Also, always a wait even though it was a Tuesday night at 7:30. Also, every time I have gone the hostesses have been extremely rude and seem bothered when you want a table. At 7:30 on a Tuesday they told us the wait was going to be an hour and 45 minutes, which turned most people away, but we had wanted to eat here so badly we waited and had a few drinks by the fire. We only ended up waiting 45 minutes.. makes it seem like they were giving people an outrageous wait time in order to turn them away.. or the hostesses are just plain dumb. Either way, not cool. Pro's: Awesome ambiance and atmosphere. The wait isn't bad when you can grab a spot by the fire and hang out. The bartenders are nice and I have eaten in the bar before which was enjoyable. The server we had in the dining room was also very friendly and accommodating. Pizza is also very, very good. It's thin and crispy which I like. Also tried the bruschetta appetizer and although expensive and small, was SO tasty. Overall, the Pro's outweigh the Con's and this is one of our favorite summer spots for a casual night out. If you get easily stressed out by a long wait and crowds this isn't your place. Also, the parking lot is super tiny!!!!

Skip this place. As a party of five we ordered three salads and two pizzas. It was fairly late 8:30 when we sat down but they could t handle the volume. Our food did not come out at the same time. The salads came out 30 mins after ordering. And by 60 mins after ordering, our 2 pizzas, one a personal size, had come out. At that point, we asked for them "to go". Luckily we checked the boxes, because as it turns out they gave us the wrong pizzas and when confronted they told us ours where still in the oven. Our waitress laughed and made it seem like it was all out of her control, which we doubted. Miserable experience.

Ok, don't tell me twenty minutes and then seat me in 45. Especially when I can look through the window by the fire pit and see an open table all that time. The best part is the bar. If you can grab a seat there, eat there. Pizza is above par. Especially for the landlubbers on Cape Cad. Also, coal fire is not like wood. A difference you can definitely taste. Service was ok at best. It always seems like the wait staff is in "the weeds". Sat at bar and ordered a few beers and wine for wife. Had my first Rolling Rock draft in years. Bar bill was very cheap thanks to the Rocks. Rocks, PBR's, Gansett's. I love how designer beer has taken over. All my old favorites are coming back. Thank you Heady Topper. Ballantine is next!

The food here may be decent, but the customer service is terrible. We arrived at 7:30 for our 7:30 reservation and ended up waiting 30 minutes to be seated while our table was prepared. Our party of 12 was seated at two round six tops that were pushed together. No way can 12 people sit at such a configuration. When we complained about the arrangement, we were told, "well, this is what we gave you." We had to pull the two tables apart and have two table of six. After asking to see the manager, he never arrived. When someone from our party went to see the manager he said he "couldn't talk". This place is the worst. Skip it.

I met a date here for an early dinner. It was our first date. It was a busy Saturday night. We were eating around 5pm. We were seated right away. The waitress came right over and gave us water and introduced herself to us. She was very nice, friendly, and attentive. She took our order, and within 10 minutes our pizza was ready. She came over just enough times to check on us, but not enough to annoy us. My date and I even talked about how quick the servers were. They cleared, cleaned, and reset tables in record time. All in all it was a great experience. I would definitely come back to try all of their pizzas, and to enjoy the firepit :)

I'm rounding up from 3.5 stars. An hour and 45 minute wait on a Friday night down the Cape is kind of ludicrous albeit not completely unexpected. And in my opinion, this pizza is not worth it. Almost nothing is worth waiting that long. So why four stars? The only reason the wait was bearable was because of the fairly good beer list and the outdoor area to enjoy the beer drinking in. The food itself was definitely good. My husband and I split a Greek salad and I also tried a piece of the gorgonzola garlic bread, both of which were good. Our table split a chicken pesto pizza and a meatball pizza, both of which were fine, but not mind blowing. Also, this is thin crust pizza, so it's not over the top filling. Long story short, I would come back but probably hit any of the plentiful and delicious seafood restaurants first. And if that didn't pan out, I would make sure to have a snack before coming.

Nope. I practically live next door to Ember, and have given up on trying it. Maybe in the summer it will be better? The first time, I was one of maybe a couple people in there for lunch. It took almost an hour for my pizza to come out. I had to grab the waitress and ask for her to switch it to "to go" since I had an appointment to keep. As soon as I reminded her that I existed, she apologized and immediately brought me my pizza. Soooo.... that tells me that it was sitting for god knows how long, while this very not-busy young lady chatted with her coworker. I can't review that pie, bcs it was cold by the time I got it. However, I tried this place again a couple weeks later for dinner and got to eat the food hot. Still not impressed. The pie managed to be burned on the bottom but barely cooked on top. The appetizer (spinach artichoke dip) was the same. Black burnt chunks floating in tepid dip. I honestly almost sent it back, which I hate doing. If I had been our server, I would have been uncomfortable serving such an unappealing looking dish to guests. I'm tacking on an extra star--reluctantly--bcs the decor is very nice. If this staff learns how to cook, this would be a great place to come! But until then, I can't justify paying jacked up prices for such straight-up lousy food.

Nice outdoor seating should never outshine the food. Chicken piccata special for $18 had little flavor and penne was overcooked. Specialty pizza--blueberry with goat cheese and prosciutto had clumps of cheese and meat. Badly prepared. Stick with the basic pizza!

First time visiting the Cape and wanted something other than Seafood. Ember has great curbside appeal because of the beautiful fire pit in the courtyard. When we entered, the bar area was very crowded. We made our way to the hostess stand and encountered an angry customer waiting to speak to a Manager. The hostess ignored us waiting. Finally, she acknowledged us and sat us. The waitress was not very friendly or accommodating. When she delivered our appetizer (Spinach Dip), she quickly set it on the table and disappeared. The dip was topped with burnt cheese oozing over the sides of the bowl. When the waitress returned, I told her the dip was burnt. She replied, "is it too burnt?" Burnt is burnt!!! We asked for it to be returned and removed from our check. When she delivered the pizza, again over cooked, I stated, "It's burnt!" She replied, "We use a wood fired oven." Okay, so that makes it okay to overcook everything? We didn't realize the dip wasn't removed from our check until departing the restaurant. We returned a few days later and asked the Manager, Scott, to credit our credit card for the amount of the dip, $8. He retained both copies of the receipt and assured us he would credit our account. A week later, no credit. I sent a message through their Facebook page. No reply! Another week passes, no credit. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to Scott. I was asked what the call pertained to and explained. She assured me Scott would return the call shortly. Sent another email message last week. It's been 5 weeks since our visit. No return call, email or credit I suggest if you want pizza while visiting the Harwich Port area, try somewhere else! Or if you do want burnt food, check your receipt carefully. Good luck!

A review haiku: Fired pizza divine Ambiance, Cape summer chaos apps were best to me Seriously, the grilled peach salad was better than either of the pizzas we had. Also while the fig, goat cheese and proscuitto pizza sounded sexy and daring, it was a bridge too far for my tastes. The apple and andouille pizza, however, was amazing.

Super Yummy Pizza! We got there early so no wait! We had: Fig, balsamic, prosciutto and goat cheese pizza - outrageously good. Chicken pesto pizza - very tasty Regular thin crust - my daughters enjoyed Artichoke dip - yum Boneless teriyaki wings - tasty - would have preferred buffalo, but had my kids with me. The bathrooms were very clean. We would absolutely come back!

We went here last night. We purposely arrived early because we wanted to sit outside and we didn't want to deal with a long wait for dinner. Our experience was awesome! We got a great table outside, had a really nice server and had excellent food. It was a gorgeous night to sit outside with a bottle of wine and if the kids spilled their drinks it didn't matter. They do not have a kids menu and don't have cups to accommodate kids so if go as far to say this place is not for kids. We had the spinach dip which was ok. Then we had the grilled peach salad which was amazing!! We followed it with the chicken pesto pizza. It was all very delicious!!

Had reservation for 7pm. We arrived a few mins early and they had just given away the only table big enough for our party. Waited for 45 mins finally to be seated outside. 15 mins later we still didn't have enough room for everyone at the table. It was so windy that a beer blew over one of us. We got up and left after rude service from manager and hostess. Our poor waitress was so upset ... she says it happens far too often. Pizza looked ok but crust is very thin.

We went in the off season, so it wasn't busy at all. Waitress was good, drinks and salad came right away. We split the wedge with bacon , tomatoes & blue cheese - really good, plenty for two. This was the best part of the meal. Our pizza was just ok...one pepperoni, one eggplant with ricotta. The eggplant was chunky- actually big chunks - I was expecting slices. Both pizzas were burned to a crisp on one side and very well done on the other. They do advertise well done, but this was black and burned to a crisp. Even the crumbs on the bottom were blackened. It was all you could taste! The prices were a little high for a pizza place - entrees were $16 and up... Chicken Parmesan was $18. Since the salad was the best part of the meal, I don't see any reason to return.

Yummy! I'm always leery of trying a new pizza place, but this place really delivered. Hostesses and servers were super friendly and the pizza was great (so many options was really messing with my head). The husband and I split a very large portion of calamari, I gobbled up my thin crust margarita pizza, and my husband's chicken was crispy to perfection. Wish the weather was a bit nicer so we could have sat outside on the patio by the fire. I wish there was a place like this closer to me. Really puts Bertuccis/CPK/etc to shame!

Very very nice little dinner place while visiting friends in Harwich who were on vacation. I would like to preface this review by saying it would be 5 stars except for a things: We waited 2+ hours starting at 7pm to sit and finally eat at 10:30pm. (We wanted outdoor seating and I can safely say it was worth the wait.) I RECOMMEND putting your name in very early on a Saturday night. Our server first approached us by saying, "Oh, hey guys, I didn't see you over here." This was after we waited for service after being seated for aprox. 20 mins. This is NOT a big deal but I would like to mention that they only sell Wine and Beer, no cocktails of any kind. Good to know for those reading these reviews. Aside from those line-items, this place was great. We waited outside by the fire to be seated (~2 hrs). We ordered beers and chilled out. I would most likely seek this place out if I were in the Harwich area again. Thank you for that delicious Buffalo Chicken Pizza!

Went to Ember last night for the first time. We sat at the bar. Nobody was there . Great , large bar with large TV's to watch the games. We loved our pizzas but I do have to comment on the staff. Horrible service!!!! The blonde bartender is one of the rudest I've ever encountered. The young male was pleasant but they acted like we were putting them out the whole time when we ordered a drink. They only serve beer and wine . How hard is it to get a Bud light bottle ? Nobody was there! Don't you want the business? We got fed up and left. It's too bad since it has a nice atmosphere and good food, but horrible staff. We also watched the hostess take someone to their table , while she was on her cell phone.

I started sitting at the bar here. Go early it's packed. Good luck parking. We usually park in the town lot and walk. The food is wonderful. The pizza not so much. They post signs about how super hot their oven is- well it's so hot it just burns the pizza, and doesn't cook it. I like my pizza cooked. If they could learn to turn down the heat on the oven and let the pizzas cook this place would get another star. Trust me, I used to make brick oven pizzas at another cape restaurant with real wood. I really wish I could fix it for these guys because the location is perfect. Until then, I'll keep sitting at the bar, order an app and a salad and be content. No pizza for me.

My in-laws have a house in Harwich so we are there almost every weekend. We have gone to Ember at least 5 times a summer over the past two years. The atmosphere is great (love the outdoor fire pit!) and the food is fantastic - lots of creative pizza toppings, and my husband loves the garlic wings (I'm a vegetarian but they always smell delicious!). I would give five stars, except that you always have to wait for a table and they don't take reservations for parties under six. Prices are a little high, as other reviewers stated, but I think pretty comparable to other similar places on the Cape. Definitely recommend!

A disappointing experience tonight. After an "hour wait" turned into an hour and fifty minutes, we wound up waiting an additional hour and fifteen minutes after being seated for food to come out. Even then, then pizza came out doughy, lukewarm and undercooked, and the person ordering a sandwich in our party got their food 10 minutes after the rest of the table was served. The burger and sandwich were good, but hardly worth the wait.

I frequent Ember a lot, the food has always been consistent. My review is about the staff. Went in last night and sat at the bar, the blonde girl behind the bar is BEYOND rude. She literally acted annoyed that we sat down...sorry? Everytime I go in the food is very good but the service always sucks. The server either doesnt speak english well (off season) or are so rude!!! Last night the shorter waitress with black hair and huge eyes was flat out mean to a table. Dont be in the service industry if you cant put a smile on your face. Male bartender is nice, the blonde one needs a reality check, she knows nothing about wine and when you only serve beer and wine thats a problem! I gave a star because the food actually is very good but the staff needs more training and to put a smile on.

Glad this place has been able to stay afloat in what I thought was a cursed restaurant locale. The pizza is unique and delicious, which is obviously the most important thing you want to hear about a pizza place. The wait is usually long, but there is a bar and a great outdoor patio to hang out on and have a drink.

This place was a nice find on our drive from West Dennis to Chatham. It stood out just driving by, thanks to a beautiful patio with a roaring fire pit. We stopped by one night and found a great menu with lots of cool pizza and beer choices (and plenty of other types of food). The entire building seemed brand new -- very nice atmosphere and well-designed. And contrary to some of the previous reviews, service was great. A little slow, but it was very busy and hey, if you're on the Cape, you're probably on vacation, so...relax!

It takes a very long time to get a table and the hostess can be rude. They told us 30-45 minutes and it took over one hr to be seated. However, once we were seated the waitress was friendly and everything came quickly. The food is excellent -- unique and flavorful thin crust pizzas. Loud atmosphere.

The food really is 4-plus stars however, the long wait time is seriously ridiculous. And there is definitely room for more tables on the patio... We were on the cape, and looking for dinner around 7pm (like everyone else). We stopped in Ember, and put our names in - expecting about an hour wait. Luckily they have a bar and a seating area outside for people to pass the time while they wait for a table. About an hour and a half later (while staring at an empty table for about 20 min) we were seated. The menu is great, tons of interesting options. There were fruit toppings and some very exciting combinations. I had a pizza with red sauce, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, eggplant, arugula, and olives. Yum. Tons of arugula. Super thin crispy crust. Really great flavor. A little pricey, but I had leftovers (a small can probably feed 2 adults with a light to moderate appetite, depending on toppings). Our wait for pizzas was "going to be longer than normal" so our waiter brought us bread sticks - which was very nice. Brownie points for you, mister waiter. Although it seems that the process could run a little smoother, the food is good. Would I eat here again? Sure. But I don't know if I would wait 90 minutes for it...

Had to update my review from last year because we made it back to Ember again this year, and it was just as good as our last visit, if not better. Ember makes a really good brick oven pizza - the crust is thin and crispy, the sauce tastes fresh, and the toppings are quality. On our recent visit, we got two of the more popular pizzas - the margherita and the meat lovers' - and they were notches above the margherita and meat lovers' pizzas you'd find elsewhere. The margherita doesn't stop at your usual fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomato - it also includes a layer of 5-cheese blend and juicy chunks of seasoned, roasted tomatoes. The meat lovers' is piled high with pepperoni, a variety of sausages, bacon, and giant slices of meatball, and while you'd expect a pizza with that much meat to be covered in grease, it wasn't greasy at all. Ember added gluten-free pizzas this year, too, which was nice for the member of our party who needed to order one. (He even said it was the best gluten-free pizza he's ever had.) Before we got our pizzas, we had some buffalo garlic wings and pulled pork nachos, which were both great. The beer selection was also very good, so my boyfriend and I were able to pair our pizza with some nice cold ones. Service was friendly and well-paced, and I really have no complaints. This is a great place to get pizza on the Cape.

I love ember! It's a great alternative when you want something delicious other than lobster rolls and fried clams on cape cod. There is almost always a wait when I go, but I am usually prepared for it at this point when I go. We usually take this wait as a great chance to get a glass of wine at the bar and sit outside by the awesome fire pit outside and relax. You can also get apps at the bar and have them delivered outside while you wait. They have a ton of different food for all tastes- pasta, wings, salads, pizzas, sandwiches. My favorite bruschetta in the whole wide world is from Ember. Delicious pesto, ripe tomatoes, balsamic reduction, perfectly grilled baguette, and a nice side salad. I could eat it as a meal. And the garlic wings are amazing!!! For my meal I always get the bacon scallop pizza. It's delicious- huge scallops, asparagus, big pieces of bacon, red sauce, and a crispy crust. Service has always been good too- efficient, friendly and quick. I would say the only downfall to ember is the long wait, and the PARKING! Tons of tables but NOT enough spots: it's like parking wars every time we want to come here. But overall love ember and I'll definitely continue to frequent it!

I went to Embers twice when it first opened. The service and the food was terrible. I tried it again tonight because my friend told me how much she loved it. The service was much better & to my delight, the food was as well. The only complaint I had was with the pizza. The menu has a large pizza starting at $13. I assumed that a pizza included sauce & cheese . I did not realize that was only for the pizza dough. I ordered a plain pizza & it was $17. I was charged for the marinara sauce & cheese. I would go back, but there are so many other restaurants on the Cape that are equal or better & not misleading.

I would NOT recommend going to Ember if you are a couple! Living in town, my wife and I like to support the restaurants in Harwich. We decided to go to Ember. We have eaten here many times in the past. Host: It was crowded so we knew we would have to wait. We put our names in and we were told it would be about 30 minutes. We were fine with that. After waiting for over 45 minutes, we started to notice that larger groups that came in after us were being seated before us. We kept looking at each other and saying didn't they come in after us?!? We figured out that they must have tables just for couples. After our 30 min wait turned into MORE THAN AN HOUR wait, we were seated at a table for 2. I counted 8 total tables for 2 in the restaurant side. All the booths and larger tables when we were seated had 3 or more people at them. I get that the bigger tables make more money when there are more people at them but as a customer, I don't like that other customers that came in after us were being seated before we were. If this is a standard practice at the restaurant then at least teach the host to give an accurate wait time because a 30 minute wait estimate turning into OVER AN HOUR WAIT is not acceptable!!! Service: When the waitress came to the table she told us that she just got slammed with a whole bunch of new tables at once. The service reflected that. Food: We are drawn to Ember because of their interesting combinations on the pizza. We always order buffalo wings and 2 small pizzas so we can bring some home. One of the pizzas came out with about an inch of burnt to a crisp crust. The pizzas usually have a little black around the edge, but this one was really burnt. The last few times we have eaten here, one if not both of the pizzas has been served really burnt. As much as we like the different combinations, its too expensive to keep coming back to eat burnt pizza. Atmosphere: The outdoor fire pit is really nice! They do have a good selection of beer and wine. I would recommend coming here for drinks by the outdoor fire pit and skipping the food and aggravation of dinning in. Overall we have been really disappointed with our last few visits here. We thought that maybe it was just a couple off nights, but its not seeming that way anymore.

Buffalo wings with garlic hot sauce are excellent! Pizza had a nice thin crisp crust! Lots of varieties to choose for pizza toppings. Bacon & scallop pizza is...amazing!! The Small is enough for two people. Love the bonfire pit on the deck. Great ambiance!

Great thin crust pizza, beautiful and relaxing outdoor seating, and a small bar area make this an ideal place for everyone when visiting the cape. The only downside for me was that their bar is limited to wine and beer, but other than that, this is our go to casual place for when we just can't eat anymore seafood during our cape trips. As an added bonus, the best ice cream on the cape its next door :)

Wait was very long, beyond their estimate. Good selection of beers, wine reasonable, and the pizza was good. However, silverware and glasses were disgusting even after being replaced. Didn't drink the water because of it. Drank wine instead, alcohol kills the germs.

We went here on a Friday night around 5:15, and it was already a bit crowded - but, it was a damp, cold day. There was a wait, so we sat at one of the tables in the bar area, which was fine, even with kids. The ambiance is very nice, especially for a pizza place in this part of the cape. We had hoped to sit outside near the fire pit, but because of the weather, we did not. The beer selection is pretty decent. They have a nice selection both on tap and bottled. For appetizers, we ordered the bread sticks, which were okay. It came with a dipping sauce, which tasted like a marinara sauce meant for pasta. I thought a pizza sauce would have done better, but they kept us happy until the pizzas arrived. My wife and daughter had some specialty pizzas, which they enjoyed. I am a red pie with mozz kind of guy, and was a bit taken aback that you cannot get just regular mozzarella on the pie, but rather their five-cheese blend. Now, before I talk about the pizza, I need to mention that we are from the New Haven area. We did see a lot of Connecticut plates in the parking lot, and I have to say, if you are used to coal oven pizza from New Haven places, you may be as disappointed as I was by the pizza here (I'd rather wait an hour for a tablet at Sally's than an hour here). I think it is because it is a 5 cheese blend, they lay it on a little thicker than I personally would like. I think this also lends itself to the cheese being a little undercooked (again, IMHO) and the crust being a little too "floppy". It was decent pizza, don't get me wrong (wish I could give 3.5 stars). But, I also have little experience with pizza on the Cape. I can't say it is the best or worst on the cape, but it was a good enough place that I would probably return (after trying some other places, as well) if I could get an outdoor seat by the fire. Plus, you can get some good ice cream right across the parking lot. Definitely worth checking out, just be aware of the wait (reservations for 6+ people only). And if you are from the New Haven area, don't expect it to be like our apizza just because it is a coal oven...

Bob thinks that this is going to be our new hang out ... time shall tell, but we had THAT great of an experience!! The first pit outside is fun & hot! Great outdoor seating - love the atmosphere - in & out. The buffalo wings are very tasty & the pizza is delicious! Our 11 yr old, who isn't a big pizza fan, said it was the best pizza she had ever had. Thin crust, fresh product - we stayed conservative as it was our first time but look forward to trying some of their funkier pizza options in the future. Great beer selection too! ...Really one of our favorite restaurants!

I've been going here ever since it opened up a few years ago and I totally love it. I don't live on Cape Cod anymore, and I still have to visit when I'm there. The pizza is thin so it's easy to eat a lot of it and not feel too guilty. My favorites are the pesto chicken, bbq chicken, buffalo chicken and white pizzas. I also love their spinach and artichoke dip. The staff is always super nice, and sitting outside with a glass of wine at night by the fire is wonderful. There are a bunch of tvs with games playing so it's good if that's what you wanna watch while you're eating. The downside is that it only has beer and wine, so I have to go elsewhere if I want some hard liquor. It's a small price to pay for an awesome atmosphere and delicious pizza, though! They don't have a ton of desserts but they have a few types of cupcakes every night and that wins me over every time. Love it!

Let me preface this by saying my family has been going to Ember since the restaurant opened. We hadn't gotten a chance to stop by this summer, so we made a point to come in on our last weekend on the Cape. Not only was the service disappointing, but it was outright disgusting. We got in within 5 minutes, which was nice and not surprising due to the fact that there were a decent amount of tables open. However, after we were seated at the table, we waited for at least 20 minutes for the waitress to come by to our table. She took our order, but we had to wait another 20-30 minutes to even get our drinks. When we did get our drinks, mine was filled completely with ice and only enough soda to last me 5 minutes, and our table was served warm beer. We also had to wait a ridiculous amount of time before we could even ask for cold beer and a refill on the soda. Yet again, we had to wait forever for the food, and the appetizers came 2 minutes before the pizza. When the pizza came, it was cold like it had been sitting out for a while. For a restaurant that prides themselves on a coal oven, I expected at least warm pizza. The waitress at this point still did not visit the table. However, the horrible service and disappointing food were not what really upset me. We asked to talk to the manager, who came over to our table. He listened to our complaints, but it honestly seemed like he could care less. He told us that we were wrong and the beer that we were served was not warm (though he wasn't there and I can vouch for the fact that it was). Instead of offering an apology, he did not listen or show any interest and told us that the slow service was because the restaurant was very busy (at that time there were only people at 5 of the tables, and when we first came in it was slightly more crowded but I would never have considered it busy). At this point the manager had still not apologized (he never did at all) and said to us "Well.... what do you want me to do about it." (and not in a kind way in a very offensive manner). He just stared at us for a little longer and walked away. I don't know if he has never worked as a manager or in customer service, but I have never seen a person talk to customers that way. Now if he had apologized or offered to comp our drinks I would have felt better about the service we received, but he did the exact opposite. We also did not see the waitress at all until she gave us our bill; even after we complained she didn't once come to check on us. I have to say, I have had my fair share of bad service, but this was by far the worst experience I have had in years, if not ever. If we had gotten an apology or the service had improved at all, I would have no problem, but it really is the response to our complaint that made the experience horrible.

We were disappointed. We've frequented other Coal Fire Pizza establishments in other states, and this one was lacking. The Bruschetta (walnut pesto with Mozzerella) was amazing. Our pizzas, both, had soft and limpy crusts. Not crispy at all. The service was quick, but just felt the food wasn't worth the price paid.

Just a quick update on Ember. Upon returning to the Cape this summer, we went to Ember a couple of times. It's worth noting that the hostesses were very rude. The first time I went, I stood in front of about 4 of them at the desk while they continued to talk to each other, occasionally glance at me, walk away, come back, and continue to chat. They were unattentive to say the least. The food and drinks are still good but the customer service leaves something to be desired.

We had our rehearsal dinner planned here and a month before our wedding we went in to meet with the owner Judd * BY APPOINTMENT * and he did not show. We're weren't given a real reason other than he was busy. Then we find out the owner refuses to do the buffet that was planned he said sit down dinner or nothing. Did I mention we drove 8 hours for this meeting. It gets better ..... We then are trying to find a place after we leave there to host the rehearsal dinner, walk into another restaurant called "The Port" and guess what .... Yup the hostess said the owners over there let me tell him you'd like to speak. She comes back and says oh Judd said he's busy and to come back. YUP same owner. I then asked her to let us know what other restaurants he owns so we don't go. He knew we came 8 hours to see him, looked us in the face and walked away. Don't waste your money!!! Please. He really put us in a bind and ruined our leisurely vacation. Now we're spending every day looking for a rehearsal spot.

Excellent pizza and appetizers! My girlfriend and I went here last night and it was our second time going. We were seated within 25 minutes of walking in the door and our server immediately came over. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and an appetizer. For dinner we ordered a meatball pizza. Everything was delicious and it was nice to watch football on their projection t.v. We had their cookie pizza for dessert and it was amazing. As to why they did not get 5 stars: 1) two glasses of wine cost $17 total. It was good wine but not worth $8.50 a glass. 2) the hostess told us it was a 20 minute wait which turned into 25 minutes.

We tried to eat here at 5:15pm on a Wednesday in mid-August as a party of 11 and were told (rather smugly) we couldn't be sat together until 9pm. Understandable... make reservations for parties over 6! Lesson learned. We then tried to split our group but they still couldn't seat us. We then opted to try their takeout. We ordered buffalo wings, teriyaki wings, Gorgonzola garlic bread and 4 pizzas (pulled pork, white, margherita, sausage and apple). It was good (I loved the pulled pork pizza) though a little too soggy/floppy... but not worthy of the hype nor wait! Its good for Harwich Port, where this is limited competition; but is no comparison to our favorite spots in Providence. And the staff could use some happy pills. Just sayin...

thin crush pizza. you wont find this type of pizza really anywhere else. its cooked over a lovely fire. the wait staff are attentive but its PACKED FULL year around, so stop at the bar and have two drinks, cause thats how long you will wait. it has a nice area outside for when it is warm, with a nice roaring fire, so take the opportunity to enjoy it. I have had six or so pizzas and they have all been amazingly constructed, fresh, and crispy. meatball, buff chicken, chicken pesto, .... are my favs.. oh and they have weird ones that im not daring enough to try like blue berry; doesnt that sound somewhat intriguing? one star down for wait... but you cant really blame them for popularity.. small pizza around 9... large around 16/19

I visited Ember today around 1pm for the first time, and I'm definitely a fan. I ordered the grilled peach, goat cheese, and arugula salad, which was delicious. We also ordered some of their bread sticks - also delicious. They were soft, warm, and seasoned with Italian spices. Other items ordered at my table included one of the pizzas (unsure of which one), a pasta alfredo dish, a caesar salad, and chicken parm, which all received positive reviews from my group. They don't have a full bar, but they offer a nice variety of beers and wines. They even offer a "beer sampler," which allows you to choose four different beers (in smaller than regular glasses of course, but still decently sized) for only $6.00. The food and alcohol are worth the price. The service was good overall. The waiter was nice and visited our table a few times to check on us, refill our waters, etc., without being annoying. My only complaint about him is that it took him a long time to bring our drinks, and he did so after bringing over the appetizers. He also brought out my entree salad with the appetizer salads instead of with the entrees, which was awkward because it had to sit in front of me for about 20-30 minutes until my group's entrees came out. (It was either that or I would have eaten it, then sat awkwardly while they ate their lunch.) This is the reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5. I've seen people complain about the wait in previous posts. I don't know how this place is for dinner, but for lunchtime there was no real wait. The food took an absurd amount of time to get to our table, but I assume it's because it's the kind of place that actually cooks meals rather than heating them up from the freezer. All in all I'll definitely go back when I return to the Cape. Hopefully it lives up to its 4 star rating around dinner time, too!

Ember is a great spot if you want to sit outside by a big fire and enjoy some pizza & drinks. I wish there menu was a little bigger, but everything I've had there hasn't disappointed. I've had a few different types of pizza, chicken wings, and bruschetta. I would agree with other reviews that the drink prices are a bit steep, but the overall experience is worth it.

Decent beer selection. I enjoyed the mozzarella sticks, they were unique and filling. Definitely worth a try. The eggplant parmesan was ok - not fresh, probably frozen. Sort of a bummer. The buffalo chicken sandwich (My friend ate that) looked good and he liked it a lot. The service was just ok. Not bad.

Went on a Tuesday around dinner time. It wasn't extremely crowded we were seated quickly. Lots of families were there. We ordered the Caesar , Greek & Wedge salads. All of them were on the larger size and had a good flavor. The boneless wings served with blue cheese & veggies had a nice buffalo sauce. We also enjoyed the sweeter sauce on the coal fired pizza. We would go back again, based on this experience.

My fiance and I had such high hopes for this place! Desperate for some legit pizza on the cape (could this be considered an oxymoron?) we were sure Ember's connection to Lombardi's would not steer us wrong. We had originally tried going here one night at 10:30 because they make it a point to say they're open until 1 am! They stop seating at 10. So we decided we'd try it out the next day. It was extremely busy due to some sort of town festival but we were seated in 25 minutes. We assumed the noise level would diminish the farther we got from the bar area. There was a group of drunk and disorderly adults whooping it up in the dining room itself which in turn made everyone around them talk louder. I thought maybe we were being overly sensitive but noticed other patrons turning around and looking over in disgust. How surprising it was to me that no one working at the restaurant said anything to them! Which could be done very non-chalantly and professionally. Our waitress was a little on the rude side for my tastes but I decided to let it slide due to how busy and overwhelming it was. She was barely attentive to our empty water glasses in fact even looking right at our glasses then us then walking away. We ordered a pizza as an appetizer. And boy, are we glad we decided to take this route. A Margherita pizza, in my many many years of eating pizza is fresh mozzarella (preferably whole milk buffalo) with whole leaf basil and Roma tomatoes. What we got was a cheese pizza with tomato slices! The "basil" was dried basil seasoning. The cheese was a shredded (bagged?) mix. Had we known we would have tried something else. So disappointing! I gave 3 stars because the only saving grace was the entrees we ordered.

It's an interesting day when you hit a pizza place with a zillion options and end up with pasta instead. Though not a picky eater (actually, check out my other reviews, I'm pretty adventurous- bacon ice cream, shrimp heads....) and yet there wasn't a single pizza that appealed to me. Blueberries and goat cheese? flurgh. I could have built a pizza, but it seemed like a lot of work and not all that cost efficient. I went with bolognese. I'd have gone with a salad and calamari, but those I was with had already tried the calamari and deep sixed it. On a positive note, the service was lovely. And there was a television that defied the technology of man - I think they got it second hand from a nearby stadium. The bolognese was dreck. utterly tasteless and with odd chunks of .... beef? maybe? Bolognese is just too easy, so my response is wtf. The pizza my friend got (anchovies, capers and mozzarella) was actually pretty decent, though nothing to write home about. The beer was cold. So there's that.

Had dinner at Ember the other night and learned an important lesson: they have great pizzas, and good appetizers and salads, but you can skip the sandwiches and entrees portion of the menu. The pizzas, apps and salads I've had have always been wonderful, but the sandwiches, burgers and entrees have been less than satisfying on at least two visits. Great service, really nice waitron.

We tried this new place based on previous positive reviews. It has an upscale young urban decor inside, not very "cape coddy." The hostess was a Carrie Bradshaw type. It seemed busy. The staff was all very friendly and the service was good. Prices were decent. We had a little trouble squeezing into the narrow booth with our three middle aged spreads. We ordered Thai style chicken wings which were excellent, salads which were also excellent, and two small pizzas to share-- a veggie which was very good and the hawaiian which was just OK. Crust was thin and crispy. There's an open kitchen and everything was very clean and new. I would return.

3 stars only bc smoking is allowed in the patio. Food was at least 4.5 stars. Not a full bar, beer and wine only. Less stars for that. Overall, I would go again, but would really prefer if it was a smoke-free place. There are so many kids around, I feel they need to set an example! We also had a long wait time, but since it was nice out, no big deal!

Great place Noisy but staff were Ok..Food wise Pizza is awesome but be prepared to do math and build your own pizza..kinda a pain in the arse...Now I have built Pizzas before but never had I had to choose a sauce and cheese, waitress was good steering us away from mozzarella as it was buffalo and said 5 cheese would be more what I and wife would be looking for. Embers did lose some business as it was so loud we did not even ask for the dessert menu and went elswhere...

Great atmosphere, good pizza, decent service, overpriced. I've been to Embers Pizza twice. The first visit was on opening weekend and the wait was an hour-and-a-half, so I skipped the table and just drank a couple at the bar. The second trip I brough a group of 10. The table was too small for comfort, especially when we ordered drinks and five pizzas. The assortment of pizzas were tasty and diverse. All were well prepared and tasted good out of the wood fired oven. The service was ok, not great, and the bill was more than what one would expect for pizza and beer. In short, we paid for the ambiance. Bottom line: good pizza but expect the bill to resemble what you'd pay for a more upscale meal.

We dined here last summer and it was wonderful! The parking and the wait was difficult but worth the hassle. Will visit again in May when we come back to Cape Cod!

The pizza is excellent, it has a very thin, light crispy crust (the 1000 degree coal-fired oven makes it crispy every time). The special combos are very interesting but you can also build your own. They also have about 20 beers on tap and a good bar area for watching the game.

great pizza, wings & salads when i have eaten in the restaurant. But tonight we wanted to order to go and they do not take to go orders over the phone...that is very disappointing. Seriously, it is a pizza place and they don't take to go orders??

For a place that advertises the three minutes (because the oven is at 1000 degrees) that it takes to cook their pizza, it took a damn long time to process our order...like an hour and a half. The waitress floated about helplessly and offered no additional bread, apps, or free drinks to deal with the backlog. When it came, the pizza was good...but no better than say Sweet Tomatoes or any other neapolitan place. I had the buffalo chicken pizza while my compatriots all made their own pizzas. The toppings were plentiful but the crust was not too crisp...actually on the verge of doughy in the middle. Maybe add an extra minute to that cook time kids. On the upside their toppings were quite numerous and interesting and ditto on their specialty pizzas. Swap standard cheese for goat, cheddar or feta without issue. All in all, avoid Ember unless you need dine-in pizza or your require any of their more exotic toppings.

Made a reservation for 12 , found out we were split into 2 tables when we arrived. Not good. Snarky hostess who could care less.

Pretty good food and good service. As others stated, a nice change of pace from lobster and clam rolls. We had three different pizzas and all were good, with the bacon and scallop being the crowd favorite. The pizzas come out fast food fast. They cook them in minutes. While the selection, the ambiance, the service, the draft beer choices were all nice, I only give it a 3 because the crust of the pizzas were very sooty. The very edges were more less inedible from it and right now I'm looking at carbon stains on my khaki shorts. The inedible part of the pizza is pretty minimal, so I wouldn't call it a deal breaker, as the rest of the pizza was tasty.

Good beer selection and fun pizza menu. I was a bit surprised they didn't have a better selection of Cisco beers, being so close to Nantucket, but the overall selection is still better than most. They have a pretty good menu, anchored by their pizza selection. The real highlight for me was being able to build my own pizza. Just be prepared to "pay for the show" if you choose to build your own. They're not shy on charging you for the autonomy of being the captain of your own pizza ship. We sat at the bar, which was nice and comfortable. The bartenders were friendly and approachable but ill-equipped to handle being food servers as well as bartenders because it was so busy. My pizza crust came out burnt to a crisp half way around, and nothing was said. Once I chopped off the burnt edges, the pizza was actually very good. Nice thin crust and the ingredients seemed fresh. They only asked once during the entire time we ate if everything was ok or if they could get us anything else. That being said, it was still a good experience and I would recommend trying them out.

We ordered pizza to go as we have driven by several times and was curious to try it. The atmosphere looks awesome with outside fire-pits. As my husband returned with the pizzas we were immediately disappointed with the burnt appearance of the pizza. We realize it is a brick oven pizza but the crust was charred black including much of the bottom. One of our pizzas had caramelized onions and you could not get the normal sweet, salty taste of the onions because the burnt flavor overpowered it. We have no reason to hurry back and wished it turned out better. I did call the manager(Scott) to offer my feedback who did say he would gladly make me another one, but I didn't want to be more inconvenienced with the drive back and forth with a young child at home. He didn't seem like he knew what else to say. I guess he could of offered a reimbursement to my charge card. Oh well! Onto another pizza establishment next time!

Great food for the citi folk who aren't normally impressed with typical cape cod fare. Good pasta, pizza and seafood dishes that are not the "safe bets" that most establishments serve. Parking is a pain during busy hours. They need about twice the lot size so you need to be creative at finding spots elsewhere. A decent outdoor seating area as well.

While I love the concept, and the style, the service is just ok and I don't care for the burnt crust on the pizza (which apparently is their signature?) Maybe it was my fault for bringing a 15 month old, but we went around 5:15 on a Saturday night and thought it would be ok. We were promptly seated. Our waitress was probably new as she didn't have much personality, nor did she look comfortable. They don't serve bread, so we had to order the breadsticks. I also wanted a meatball for him (knowing they would be big), but was told that you can't order one, you must have 3? OK. I was prepared to pay full price anyway, but ok, I'll take 3. The problem is that those 2 were both appetizer orders, and clearly for my 15 month old, but for some reason they didn't come until dinner arrived. (so instead my son filled up on gold fish while he waited patiently). Pizza was just ok, and kind of cool. The crust was so thin, that it was soggy & floppy. With all the food arriving at once, we didn't end up finishing our bottle of wine. We knew our 15 month old wasn't going to sit while we finished a 1/2 bottle of wine, and we also didn't want to disrupt everyone else's nice dinner, so we asked for the wine to go (which is the LAW in MA, to allow you to bring home an unfinished bottle in a one time sealed bag). A manager came over & coldly said the owner doesn't allow that. (despite being reminded that it was the law). SOO - we literally chugged the rest of the wine, and let our 15 mo old be as loud as he wanted at that point. They didn't leave us much choice, short of leaving a very good (pricey) bottle left unfinished. Our final memory of that restaurant was hurried and unpleasant.

Despite some of these reviews, I had a great experience here and would go back in a second. I went late (9:30ish) on a Saturday night, so it wasn't too crowded or loud. They have an outstanding draught beer and wine selection, and the pizza was fantastic. All the negative reviews seemed to have problems with the pizza, but these reviewers just don't know what a brick oven pizza tastes like. A proper brick oven pizza has simple and flavorful ingredients, charred crust, and a doughy center. Ember got that right. If you're looking for a casual pizza joint where you can take the kids to have a heavy, greasy, New York or Chicago style pizza, go elsewhere. If you're looking for a sophisticated place to go with friends for a good drink and upscale thin crust pizza, go to Ember; you will love it.

One hour wait on a Monday night & unapologetic front staff. Not helpful.

The previous reviews are correct; the outer rim of the crust was crispy, yet the inner section of the pizza was doughy/soggy. The wing were great, Buffalo Garlic were out of this world, my favorite! The decor is contempo, modern and trendy. Definitely the only place of this type in this area. I would absolutely go back for the wing and drinks by the outdoor fire-pit, but the pizza needs work.

Wow, great gourmet pizza, cooked in an interesting way, very fast in a coal fired oven. We tried Blueberry puree, goat cheese and prosciutto. Very nice flavors. The crust gets burned a little and has sort of an industrial burn taste which must come from the coal.

Very unique pizza selection. We had one with andouille sausage, apple, and spinach and it was great. Good beer and wine selection too, and my wife really enjoyed the pineapple sangria. We will be back!

Great food, great pizza. They have some really interesting selections and you can build your own, for instance if you have a fussy 11-year-old who only likes pepperoni. My only complaint is that it's LOUD in there! The acoustics are absolutely awful. My party couldn't converse with each other at all. So despite the excellent food, it's not really a comfortable dining experience, which is unfortunate.

Good food, service mediocre. Have been several times and usually satisfied until tonight. I used the red pepper shaker and the lid came off smothering my pizza with red pepper flakes. Obviously someone pulled a prank and left the lid unscrewed. The problem was the server didn't seemed concerned. Only to say "i'm sorry about that" and a clean plate brought to the table. She didn't even clean the numerous flakes left on the table. No adjustment to our bill either. Pizza is good but that incident left a bad taste. Warning, check your pepper and cheese shakers!!

I am a sucker for pizza and I guess the owners of the Port have their hand in it, so we decided to try it out. The atmosphere was lively and fun (we sat at a table but the bar area looked cool too). The place was totally jam packed and when we sat, we weren't approached by our server for 10 min. I'm not exaggerating. I'm a server myself so I have patience and respect for the job. I know the girl obviously wasn't standing in the back chatting it up, she was busting her ass and just couldn't get a chance to come over. But 10 min is a long time to not even be acknowledged. When she did come over though, she was very nice and from that point on, very attentive as well. We ordered salads to start, they were great. Then we split a pizza, it was the portobella, caramalized onion, GARLIC one. Did I mention GARLIC?!! Whoa, so much that we only ate a slice each and boxed the rest for my friend to torture her husband with. I love garlic, even in large doses, but that was borderline unedible. The chef had a happy hand that night. One other thing to note, it was so loud in there, we couldn't hear each other across our little 2 top table. It made for some awkward conversing. The acoustics need a little attention. I will go back though because I really believe that you can't base your opinion on one so-so experience. It wasn't terrible, it just needs another try.

After some initial hesitation due to some marginal reviews when this place first opened, we have become frequent diners at Ember in Harwich Port. Without exception, we have had outstanding food and service. Their oven fired thin crust pizza is etheral. The lemon-pepper bone in chicken wings are scrumptious. Very good caesar salad. The only disappointment was their Peach Salad, featuring arugula, peanuts, goat cheese, and grilled peaches with a honey soy vinaigrette. We've even tried it at different times of the year, hoping to find it improved, but have consistently found it to be below par. Too bad, since it sounds SO good! Otherwise, everything that we have tried on the menu is exceptionally good. Their Hawaiian Pizza is fantastic, with large tasty chunks of grilled pineapple, and small thin slivers of ham throughout under the bubbling cheese. It's a masterpiece. Another surprise stand-out is the Andouille and Apple pizza! Prepare for a real andouille kick that will leave your taste buds singing (or howling), cooled by the granny smith apples and a mix of flavorful cheeses! Service has always been great. The noise level is unfortunately an issue on busy nights in season, so we usually try to arrive early before the crowds arrive. On a nice summer evening, the outdoor patio dining is the perfect antidote to the noise indoors. Bravo, Ember---we're glad you are here!

Really great pizza, super kid friendly, lovely atmosphere AND we had a great waitress. All the front of house people were really good, in fact. And our Caesar salad was really good too. We had googled "best pizza in Cape Cod" and this place didn't come up at all, we drove by and popped in cause it looked good from the street. Major score! Oh yeah, great beer list, too.

NO! I wouldn't go here again. Wine glass was dirty (bartender was less than apologetic), water glasses dirty, no service for 10 minutes seated at a table, they don't house-make their croutons (or they make them just like the bag). Go to Pizza Barbone. Consumed: Caesar Salad (see above crouton note) A pizza... not memorable

Ember was a big disappointment. I tried 2 years ago to enter while on vacation, but the place was packed. This year, on vacation, our group tried again because Ember was busy and looked promising. The decor was fine and the service was also fine. The place was loud, and busy, but we were promptly seated thanks to a reservation placed the evening before. The trouble was the food--a pulled pork sandwich and nachos looked promising enough, but the much-touted pizza was a disaster. The edges of one pie were burnt (not wood-fired tastefully burnt but shatteringly burnt) yet the bottom crust was mealy and wet to the touch. On both pies. How can you burn a pie and yet serve a wet-feeling, droopy crust? One of our party called the crust "doughy" but most of us agreed it was literally wet, as if the pie had sat one a wet counter before delivery. My wife and I agreed it was, hands down, the worst thin crust pizza we ever had. Never again.
